About Parallel Space

Parallel Space is a street-level multi-discipline art space slash gallery, inconspicuously located in the grassroots district of Kowloon, Tai Nan Street, where Bruce Lee learned "Ving Tsun" (Cantonese Kung Fu) from Master Ip Man in the 60s. The area was turned into a fashion and garment manufacturing sourcing hub from the 70s to the late 90s. The shop rental rate was relatively low after 2016-17 due to the economic shift in Hong Kong thus the founder, Kim Lam, began to run the space independently since Oct 2018.

During these 5 years, we had our gallery's own curated exhibitions, collaboration projects with artists, as well as rentals. There have been more than 60 exhibitions and events that have happened in Parallel Space already, including artists' group shows, solo exhibitions, pop-up art events & cross-type exhibitions. These have included all kinds of mediums from painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, calligraphy, photography, and installation to illustration, toys to fashion, and multimedia to traditional craft. Artists and creatives from emerging to established, celebrities to amateurs, the majority of which are based in Hong Kong, including Karena Lam, Yeung Hok Tak, Wong Ping, Little Thunder, Deacon Lui, Lousy, DonMak, Masoshan Connie, Rex Koo, PHEW, Planet X, Plants of Gods, Toki Nashiki, Leung Lok Hei, Dallas Lee, and many more…
